HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-115RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF WILLIAM EDWARD PREWITT WHEREAS, William Edward Prewitt graduated from high school in Madison Heights, Michigan; and later served in the United States Navy. WHEREAS, in 1955 to 1959, he served the citizens of Detroit, Michigan by being a member of their police department; followed by serving as a fireman for the Royal Oaks Fire Department. WHEREAS, in 1959, he left public service to become a building contractor. WHEREAS, in 1962 to 1964, he again returned to public service and joined the Oakland Police Department where he remained until applying to the California Highway Patrol; WHEREAS, William Edward Prewitt joined the California Highway Patrol on January 13, 1964. WHEREAS, following graduation from the California Highway Patrol Academy, Officer Prewitt was assigned to the San Leandro Office in May 1964. WHEREAS, Officer Prewitt was transferred to Redding in January 1967 and served at that location until being promoted to sergeant on July 2, 1975 and served in the Redwood City Office. WHEREAS, on August 1, 1976, he transferred to the Operational Dispatch Section and finally transferred to the Chico Office in July 1977 and served until his retirement due to a job incurred disability on February 10, 1989. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte would like to express their deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion given by Sergeant William Edward Prewitt, #3436 during his career with the California Highway Patrol. -2- PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 24th day of July, 1990 by the following vote: AXES: Supervisors Dolan, Fulton, McInturf, Vercruse and Chairman McLaughlin NOES: None ABSENT: None NOT VOTING: None C ~ ED MC LAUGHLIN, air, Butte County Board of Supervi ors ATTEST: WILLIAM H. i2ANDOLPH, Chief Administrative Officer and Clerk of the Board of Superv~i~s-oy~r-s
