HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-122Resolufion RESOLUTION TN APPRECIATION OF JAMES RUSSELL MILLER WHEREAS, James Russell Miller joined the California Highway Patrol in November, 1966 and WHEREAS, Lieutenant Miller is holder of advanced, supervisory and management certificates from the State of California Commission for Peace Officers Standards and Training. Lieutenant Miller during his career has served on the Butte County Emergency Medical Care Committee as well as served as a California State Service Representative charged with selection of new officers; and WHEREAS, James Miller is recipient of a managerial performance award for valued contributions to the California Highway Patrol, was leader of the Northern California Multi- Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team which was honored by the Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol for exemplary performance; and is recognized by the County of Butte for his participation and support for the countywide "Wanted: Belted Drivers" campaign' to reduce vehicular injuries and deaths. WHEREAS, Lieutenant Miller was recognized by the State of Nevada Highway Patrol for his assistance in helping their organization attain a higher level of expertise in accident investigation. WHEREAS, in addition to faithfully serving the people of this state as a member of the California Highway Patrol, as well as a firefighter for the City of Richmond, Lieutenant Miller is a member in good standing in the Northern California Peace Officers Association, California Peace Officers Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association and Rotary International. He is officially a court recognized expert in accident reconstruction and a graduate of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Multi- disciplinary Highway Collision Training course. -2- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte would like to express their deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion given by James Russell Miller during his career with the California Highway Patrol.
