STORAGE OF VEHICLES IN THE OROVILLE
PUBLIC WORKS YARD
WHEREAS, the County of Butte maintains a Public Works
Yard which in the past has been utilized for the storage of
vehicles and other equipment items by other governmental
jurisdictions, County departments as a service to the clients they
serve, and for the storage of evidence beyond the statute of
limitations in criminal or civil proceedings; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to recover fees for the storage
of vehicles and other equipment belonging to persons or
organizations other than the County of Butte in order to offset the
administrative burden of maintaining accountability and for the use
of County land and resources.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board
of Supervisors as follows:
1. There is hereby established a fee of $15.00 per month
for the storage of vehicles and other equipment which occupies a
space of 10 feet by 20 feet. Vehicles or equipment which occupy
a space greater than 10 feet by 20 feet shall be charged in
multiples of the $15.00 per month fee.
2. Said fee shall be levied to the owner or guardian of
the vehicles or equipment so stored, except there shall be no fee
levied against departments storing County assets.
3. The County Treasurer-Tax Collector and Public Works
Director are directed to establish a procedure for the orderly
billing of persons or organizations utilizing storage.
4. The storage fee shall become effective December 1,
1990.

County of Butte, State of California this 6th day of November 1990
by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors McInturf, Dolan, Fulton and Chairman McLaughlin
