TERRANCE RORTON
WHEREAS, this Board expresses its appreciation to
TERRANCE RORTON for his 26 plus years as a law enforcement officer
with the Butte County Sheriff's Department.
WHEREAS, ASSISTANT SHERIFF TERRANCE RORTON joined the
Butte County Sheriff's Office on September 14, 1964 as a deputy
sheriff and progressed through the ranks serving as an
Investigator, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander of the Chico
substation and in 1987 was appointed Assistant Sheriff.
WHEREAS, ASSISTANT SHERIFF RORTON assisted in
implementing and coordinated the Neighborhood Watch Program, Crime
Prevention Program, Operation I.D., and North State Crime Stoppers
and was instrumental in the great success of these programs.
WHEREAS, after serving the citizens of Butte County for
26 plus years, ASSISTANT SHERIFF TERRANCE RORTON is retiring on
December 28, 1990.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Soard of
Supervisors, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of
the County of Butte:
That said Board expresses their deep appreciation for the
unselfish dedication and devotion given by TERRANCE RORTON during
his career with the Butte County Sheriff's Department.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Bvard of
Supervisors this 18th day of December, 1990 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors P1cInturf, Vercruse, Fulton and Chairman Pic Laughlin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Dolan
