HomeMy WebLinkAbout905'~~. r.,f::,. 1 2 3 4 6 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 2B 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 905 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTES STATE OR CALIE~uRNIA (Vehicle Code Section 22358) The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, do ordain as follows: Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (65) miles per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows: Section 2: That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter- described County highways, to wit: On ORCHARD WAY, from Marian Avenue to Diamond Avenue On MILLER AVENUE, fr®m River Road to Butte Avenue On BUTTE AVENUE, from Miller Avenue to North Graves Avenue On NORTH GRAVES, from Butte Avenue to River Road On ARCHER AVENUE, from State Highway 99E to Gilstrap Avenue On BONNELL AVENUE, from Oroville-Gridley Highway to Archer Avenue Section 3: That SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES signs be placed at approximate locations on the roads described in Section 2. Section 4: That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter- described County highways, to wit: On V6 ROAD, from Oroville-Bangor Highway to Seacrest Drive On VE ROAD, from V6 Road to Oroville-Bangor Highway On ALL OF OAK KNOLL WAY On SEACREST DRIVE, from Oak KnoII Way to Oroville-Garden Ranch Road On OAK PARK AVENUE, from Chico City Limits to west end On ROSE AVENUE, from Bidwell Avenue to River Road On TANG BAR ROAD, from Oroville City Limits to northerly end On ALL ~F ARROW WAY On ALL OF INCLINE AVENUE -2- 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 I 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 On ALI< OF COLINA WAX On ALL OF FERNWOOD AVENUE On ALL OF LAUSEN STREET On ALL OF REICKER AVENUE On ALL OF LAKELAND BOULEVARD On 1TA~IILTON-NORD-CANA HIGHWAY, from Market Street to Folsom Street On ALL OF FOLSOM STREET in Nord On ALL OF WASHINGTON STREET in Nord On ALL OF 3ACKSON STREET in Nord On ALL OF EAST COMMERCIAL STREET in Nord On NORD GIANELLA ROAD, from Folsom Street to Hamilton-Nord-Cana Highway Section 5: That SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the roads described in Section 4. Section 6: That a prima facie speed limitcf forty-fsve (45) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter- described County highways, to wit: On WEST SACRAMENTO, from Muir Avenue to Meridian Road On LARKIN ROAD, from Center Avenue to Oroville-Gridley Highway On LARKIN ROAD, from Prather Road to the Sutter Butte Canal crossing Section 7: That SPEED LIMIT 45 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the roads described in Section 6. Section 8: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 9: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section, or term thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inoperative or invalid, Section 10: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof. -3- 1 2 3 9: 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 !.9 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 2B 28 27 28 29 30 31 32 This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local newspaper published in the County o£ Butte, State of California, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Boaxd of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 27th day of September ~ 1966, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Howsden, Maxon, McKillop, Pryde and Chairman Giles NOES: None ABSENT: None NOT VOTING: None ~i~ Chairman of the Board of Supervisors County of Butte, State of California ATTEST: JESSIE ROGERS, County Clerk and Ex-Officio Glerk of the Boaxd of Supervisors D p ty
