Resolufion No. 91-101
RESOLUTION REPEALING AND AMENDING THE MERIT SYSTEM AND
PERSONNEL RULES RELATING TO EXPENSES FOR MILEAGE
WHEREAS THE COUNTY' OF BUTTE has entered into Memorandums of
Understanding with employee organizations who represent employees
in each bargaining unit to receive mileage reimbursement that are
not consistent with existing Personnel Rules.
WHEREAS, the mileage expense rates are not consistent between
represented employees, non-represented employees and volunteers.
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors finds it to be in the
interest of the County to have uniform rates,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Butte that Resolution No. 71-136, Section 13.10 e. be
amended to read as follows:
e. Expenses for Mileage An employee, volunteer, elected or
appointed department head who has received authorization to use a
private owned vehicle for County business shall be reimbursed at a
rate authorized by the Internal Revenue Service for each mile
driven for business purposes during the month. Such employees,
volunteers, and officials who, during any month are authorized and
provide a privately-owned vehicle for County use in excess of (5)
five working days during the month, shall receive a flat rate of
the IRS rate times (100) one hundred miles for the first (100) one
hundred miles or portion there of traveled on County business.
Such employees shall receive in addition after the first (100) one
hundred miles per month, the IRS business rate per mile for all
other miles traveled on County business during the month.
f. Licensed Driver Employees who are authorized to drive a Ccunty
vehicle or a privately owned vehicle shall notify their supervisor
whenever they do not have a valid drivers license.
Employees without a valid drivers license shall not be authorized
for use of any vehicle on County Business.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on
this 1.7th day of September 1991, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors McInturf, Noux, McLaughlin, Fulton and Chair Dolan
