WHEREAS, Senator Presley wrote SB 997 to promote the
development of Interagency Children's Services Coordinating
Councils to encourage interagency coordination and collaboration.
WHEREAS, the State Departments of Attorney General,
Health & Welfare and Education have agreed to collectively support
the creation of these councils, and to assist them in addressing
the needs of children and families.
WHEREAS, Governor Wilson has appointed Maureen DeMarcp
as Secretary of Child Development and Education who is strongly
supporting the creation of these Councils to facilitate cooperative
interagency efforts to improve services to children and their
families, and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has
authorized the creation and development of a Children's Services
Interagency Council for Butte County. The Butte County Board of
Supervisors recognizes the need to improve services to children and
families by encouraging cooperation and collaboration between
agencies.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors supports utilizing the Children's Services Coordinating
Council to act as an advisory body for issues regarding children

and family services, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors endorses the slate of officers unanimously elected by
the members of the Children's Services Coordinating Council and the
by--laws approved at the Council's November 22nd meeting, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
supervisors agrees to support the Children's Services Coordinating
Council by designating a board member to represent the Board of
Supervisors at Council meetings.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors on the 17th day of December, 1991 by the fallowing
vote:
