HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-008RESOLUTION MAKING APPLICATION TO THE BUTTE COUNTY LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION REGARDING PROPOSAL FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A COUNTY SERVICE AREA FOR ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES NOT PROVIDED TO THE SAME EXTENT ON A COUNTYWIDE BASIS BOTH WITHIN AND WITHOUT CITIES WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte intend to consider a proposal for the establishment of a County Service Area for the following: Animal control services not provided to the same extent on a countywide basis both within and without cities. WHEREAS, no proceedings for the establishment of such service area shall be instituted by this Board or requested by its members until approval of the Local Agency Formation Commission is first obtained. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED and ordered by the Butte County Board of Supervisors, as follows: 1. Application and a proposal is hereby made to the Local Agency Formation Commission in accordance with the Kortese Knox Reorganization Act of 1.985 beginning with Government Code Section 5600, for establishment of a County Service Area. The exterior boundaries of the proposed Service Area are described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference. 2. Establishment of said Service Area is proposed under County Service Area Law (Chapter 2.2, Part 2, Division 2, Title 3 of the Government Code beginning with Section 25210.1). The type of extended service proposed to be is: Animal control services not provided to the same extent on a countywide basis both within and without cities. 3. The Clerk of the Board is authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Executive Office of the Butte County Local Agency Formation Commission. -2 -- PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California this 28th day of January, 1992 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors P9cIntur~, Haux, McLaughlin, Fulton and Chair Doran NOES : Done ABSENT: None NOT VOTING: None 1~OLAN,~Chair, Butte County Board f Supervisors ATTEST: WILLIAM H.
