HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-010RESOLUTION ADDING SECTION 6.11 OF THE BIITTE COUNTY PERSONNEL RULES WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors finds it to be in the interest of the County to amend the Personnel Rules, NOW_,_THEREFORE,,,.BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte hereby amend the Personnel Rules of the County of Butte by adding Section 6.11, to read as follows: 6.11 Em to ee Promotional A sisal EPA When a department has a vacancy within a class series, or a flexably staffed position within a class series {i.e., Account Clerk/Senior Account Clerk) promotion may be made by using an Employee Promotional Appraisal (EPA). The Department has the sole discretion on determining whether the employee is ready for promotion. The Personnel Department must determine whether the employee proposed far promotion meets the minimum qualifications to be eligible for the higher level classification. The Personnel Department shall provide departments with a list of classifications where the EPA applies as well as an Employee Promotional Appraisal Report form to rate the employee. An acceptable rating is required on this form to be eligible for promotion using this process. Employees occupying positions that are alternately budgeted have no vested rights to promotion to the budgeted higher level class. Assignment to specific positions in the budget are for position control purposes only.
