interest of the County to amend the Personnel Rules;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Butte hereby amend the Personnel Rules of the County
of Butte by revising Section 10.1 (d, e, f) to read as follows:
10.1 SAFETY PROGRAM
d. Authority. Senate Bill 198 which was passed in 1989 included a
number of significant changes regarding safety and health in the
workplace in California, the most significant of which added Labor
Code Section 6401.7.
The California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Section 1509(2) of the
Construction Orders, Section 3203 of the General Industry Safety
Orders, and Labor Cade Section 6401.7 directed the California
Occupational. Safety and Health Standards Board to ado~at new
regulatory program. On July 1, 1991, every employer ~.n California
was required to have a written injury and illness prevention
program, with no exceptions to this requirement.
e. Policy.
1. The Board of Supervisors adopted the Injury and Illness
Prevention Program on June 25, 1991.
2. The policy adopted by the Berard of Supervisors defined the
County's Injury and Illness Prevention Program for compliance with
the provisions of the California Code of Regulations and the
California Labor Code.
3. The Injury and Illness Prevention Program adopted by
Resolution 91-77 has been disseminated to all responsible parties.
4. The Chief Administrative Officer is responsible far the
Injury and Illness Prevention Program for Butte County employees.
This responsibility has been delegated to each department head,
court officer, and/or appointing authority.

5. Tt is the responsibilitX of these persons to ensure the
overall implementation of the Tn~ury and Illness Prevention Program
by directing the tasks identified in the plan.

Ail employees shall:
(a) Practive safe working habits in the discharge of their
duties.
(b} Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
{c} Promptly report all accidents to their immediate
supervisor.
(d) Participate in organized safety training programs.
