HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-014WHEREAS, over 20 years ago the Eligibility Worker classification was established to allow for a more efficient service in determining eligibility for individuals applying for, and receiving, Aid to Families with Dependent Children, Faad Stamps, Medical Assistance, General Assistance, Foster Care and Homeless Assistance; and WHEREAS, Eligibility Workers also act in a number of other vital capacities including Quality Control, Staff Development, Appeals, Overpayments and Investigations; and WHEREAS, Eligibility Workers are required to perform a multitude of tasks an a daily basis that require skills in psychology and business, and the use of compassion in dealing with those distressed citizens who rely on public assistance; and WHEREAS, Eligibility Workers are faced with a constantly changing, complex array of federal, state, and county programs yet have maintained superior professional results and delivered outstanding services, and WHEREAS, Eligibility Workers in California are continually working to improve their knowledge and expertise; and WHEREAS, Eligibility Workers are assisted in the performance of their duties by a variety of highly skilled clerical and supervisory staff; and WHEREAS, it is important that all citizens of Butte County recognize the important services which staff involved in the administration of eligibility programs provide to citizens throughout our county, state, and nation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Berard of Supervisors that the County honor .its Eligibility Workers, Eligibility Supervisors, and Support Staff by proclaiming January 26th through February 1st, 1992, as Eligibility Worker Recognition Week in Butte County.
