HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-067~' RESOLUTION OF INTENTION, SUBJECT TO CONFIRMATION BY THE VOTERS, TO ESTABLISH COUNTY SERVICE AREA NO. 140 - COUNTY OF BUTTE WHEREAS, pursuant to Title I21, Division II, Part 2, Chapter 2.2 of the Government Code of the State of California, the County of Butte petitioned the Local Agency Formation Commission for formation of County Service Area No. 140; and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Butte on April 2, 1992 approved the formation of County Service Area No. 140. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that County Service Area No. 140 is proposed to be established, subject to confirmation by the voters of the proposed area, under the terms of the aforesaid chapter in the unincorporated area of Butte County. ~.. The boundary lines of the territories proposed for inclusion in the county service area are described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof by this reference. 2. The county service area shall be called County Service Area 140 -- (County of Butte}. The type of extended county service to be provided is animal control services not currently provided and not provided to the same extent on a countywide basis both within and without cities. 3. The Board intends to levy a service charge to pay far the abovementioned services in County Service Area Nv. 140. The service charge will be assessed in accordance with Government Code Na. 25210.77a and the Butte County Code, Section 23.-85 through 21-90. Said service charge wi11 not be assessed far any fiscal year until the report required by Government Code Section 25210.77a and Butte County Code Section 21-87 has been filed and adopted following a public hearing held thereon pursuant to Butte County, Code Section 21-88 and 21-89. 4.
