RESOLUTION TO ExTEND DATES TN
PROCEEDINGS OF BUDGET ADOPTION
WHEREAS, Government Code Section 29060 and following
specify certain time limits in the process for adopting the
County's final budget; and
WHEREAS, these code sections allow Butte County Board of
Supervisors by resolution to permanently extend these dates; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors finds that
the ability to finalize Butte County's budget is dependent upon
accurate information regarding the State's budget; and
WHEREAS, such information is generally not available in
a timely fashion; and
WHEREAS, a permanent extension of referenced dates would
facilitate the process.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the date as specified in
Government Code Section 29066 for notice of document availability,
and publication of hearing date on the final budget is hereby
permanently extended from August 10 to September 8;
BE IT FIIRTHER RESOLVED that the date as specified in
Government Code Section 29080 with regard to the opening of the
budget hearings is hereby extended from August 20 to September 18;
SE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the duration for which the
budget hearings may be continued before conclusion as specified in
Government Code Section 29081 is hereby permanently extended from
ten to fourteen calendar days;
BS IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date specified in
Government Code Section 29088 for the adoption of the budget is
hereby permanently extended from August 30 to October 2;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date specified in
Government Cade Section 29093 for filing of a copy of the budget
with the State Controller is hereby permanently extended from
November 1 to December 1;
BE IT FIIRTHER RESOLVED that the date specified in
Government Code Section 29100 for adoption by resolution of tax

rates en the secured roll is hereby permanently extended from the
first business day of September to October 3.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date specified in
Government Code Section 29100.6 for filing statement of exempt
values, tax loss, and county assessment rolls be hereby permanently
extended from November 1 to December 1;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the date specified in
Government Code Section 29109 for forwarding of the statement of
rates assessed valuation amounts of levy and amounts allocated to
controller to the State Controller be hereby permanently extended
from November 1 to December 1.
PASBED AND ADOPTED this 30th day of June, 1992 by the
following vote:
