HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-103WHEREAS, the Butte County Fair originated in 1937 as the
Paradise Apple Festival and Fair, and
WHEREAS, since then, the fair has changed locations and
names. In 1939, the fair was moved to its present location in
Gridley and became known as the "Golden Feather Fair".
WHEREAS, in 1990, with the addition of the "Sportsman's
Expo", the fair attracted more than 50,000 visitors; a record
number. Tn 1991, the number increased to b5,000 and increases of
10,000 visitors are expected this year with the new World Wildlife
Museum displays of now extinct species.
WHEREAS, the Butte County Fair and Sportsman's Expo
remains committed to the advancement and promotion of Butte
County's rich agricultural heritage.
NOW, THEREFORE BS IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board
of Supervisors proclaims August 24-30th, "COIINTY FAIR WEEK" in
honor of the fifty-fifth (55th) anniversary of the Butte County
Fair.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on the 18th day of August, 1992 by
the Butte County Board of Supervisors by the following vote:
AYES: SuPervzsors McTnturf, Houx, McLaughlin, Fulton and Chair Dolan
NOES: None
ABSENT; NQ~e

"COIINTY FAIR WEEK"
IN HONOR 4F THE 55TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE BIITTE COIINTY FAIR
