AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, ZONING A PORTION OF SAID COUNTY
PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NOS. 475, 522 and 676
OF SAID COUNTY
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of Cali-
fornia, under ar~d•"pursuant to Ordinance No. 475 of said County,`
being the Zon•i"rig Enabling Ordinance as amended by Ordinance Nos.
X22 and 676, DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the County
of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as a
"C-2" (General Commercial) District and such area shall be subject
to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter
specified and provided. Said area so zoned being located in the
unincorporated area of Butte County, north of the City of Oroville,
California, and particularly described as follows:
As shown by map attached and as shown by the
Butte County Area Map No. 4 in the Office of
the Butte County Planning Commission and the
Office of the Butte County Clerk.
SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR A "C-2" DISTRICT:
2.1 Uses. Permitted:
a. Dwellings. and dwelling groug•s, subject to the building
site area, lot width and yards requirements as specified for in any
"R" District.
b. Uses permitted in "C-1" Districts.
c. Genewa-1 Commercial uses, including art shops, aviaries,
bars and cocktail lounges, billiard parlors and pool halls, bowling
alleys, building material retails, cleaning and pressing establish-
ments, dance halls, equipment rentals, drive-ins, repair garages,
auto car washes, mobile home parks (subject to conditions set forth
by the Planning Department), plumbing shops, cabinet shops, sign
manufacturing shops, Gymnasiums, hospitals (subject to the condi-
tions set forth in "R-4" Districts), hotels and motels and other

will not be detrimental or obnoxious to the neighborhood in which

2.2 The fallowing uses subject to securing a use permit in

similar character.
b. Manufacturing of clothing, handicraft products and other
light manufacturing or industrial uses of a similar character.
2.3 Minimum Lot Width Required: Twenty-five (25) feet.
2.4 Front Yard Required: None, except where frontage in a
block is partially in an "R" District, in which case the front yard
shall be one-half (1./27 that required in such "R" Districts.

2a5' Side Yard Required: None, .except where the side of a lot
abuts upon the-side of..a 1o_t in an "R'k District, in which case the
abutting side yard shall not be less titan five.{5) feet; and except
where the side yard on the street side of a corner Sot abuts on an
"R" 6istrict, i~n which-case the side yard on the street side shall
be one=half (1/2.) the front yard, required in such "R" Districts.
2.6 Rear Yard Require: Twelve'(72) feet, or five {5), feet
adjacent to an alley.
2.7 Off-street parking: Off-.s.treet park9ng area shall be
approved in advance anti as required by the Planning. Commis;si;on..
SECTION 3. All uses of land within`the iistrict not similar or
not specifically authorized or pe-rmitted under Section`2 of thi's
Ordinance, are prohibit°ed. .
SECTION 4. Penalties far any violation.af the zoning hereby im~
posed within the:Districtshatl be as provided in the Zor3ing.
Enabl~ng'Ordinanceo In compliance evith the provisions of the Zoning
Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance°shall from and after its effect-
ive date become a supplement and part of the Zoning Enabling
Ordinance. .
SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby ,declared to
be.in full force and effect from .and after thirty (30) days after
the date of its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen {l5)
days after its passage this Ordinance 'shall be, published once with
the names of the members voting: for and against it, in the
oroville Mercury , a newspaper published in the County of
Butte, State.of Ca ifarnia.
