AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND CO~dSOLIDATING ORDINANCE NOS.
478, 486, 547, 556, 571, 606, 623, 627, 654, 660, 694,
762, 764, 779, 793, 799, 805, 830, 840, 844, 853, 860,
862 and 893, and establishing regulations for the use of
land and the construction and uses of buildings in "R-1"
(Single-Family Residential) Districts of Butte County
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the County
of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as ar
"R-1" (Residential) District as hereinafter described and subject tc
all of the restricted uses applicable to an "R-1" District:
As shown by map attached and as shown on
Butte County Map in the office of the Butte
County Planning Commission and in the office of
the Butte County Clerk
SECTION 2. The following regulations shall apply in an °R-1"
.(Residential} District:
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family dwellings, not including tents or trailer
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
c. Household pets (but not including livestock, poultry
or poisonous reptiles.
2.2 LOT AREA:
a. Minimum required area of a lo't per dwelling unit shall
be no less than eight thousand, one hundred twenty-five
(8,125) square feet.
2.3 LOT WIDTH:
a. Minimum lot width shall not be less than sixty-five
(65) square feet.
2.4 FRONT YARD:
a. Minimum front yard shall be fifty (50) feet from the
centerline of the road, except where the road is
classified by the County as a Federal Aid Secondary
Road the minimum building setback requirement shall be
fifty-five (55) feet from the centerline of said road.
2.5 SIDE YARDS:
a. Minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5) feet.
2.6 The following uses subject to securing a use permit in
each case:
a. Golf courses and country clubs.
b. Public and quasi-public uses including churches, fire-
houses, hospitals, parks, playgrounds, schools and
public utility buildings.
SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not specifically
authorized or permitted under Section 2 are prohibited.
SECTION 4. Butte County Ordinance Nos. 478,`~F86, 547, 556, 571,
606, 623, 627, 654, 660, 694, 762, 754, 779, 793, 799, 805, 830, 84(
844, 853, 860, 862 and 893 are hereby repealed.

SECTION 5. In compliance with the provisions of said Zoning
Enabling Ordinance the same is hereby amended by adding to Section ~
thereof, this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 6. The penalties for violation of the zoning hereby im-
posed upon said District shall be as provided in the said Zoning
Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 7. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby declared to
be in full force and effect from and after thirty (3O} days after
the date of its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15)
days after its passage this Ordinance shall be published once with
the names of the members of the Board voting for and against is, in
the Pazadise Post a newspaper published in the County
of Butte, State of California.
PRSSED and ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte, State of California, this 25th day of April 1967
by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Howsden, Dunaway, Maxon, McKillop and Pryde
NOES: None
