AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND CONSOLIDATING
"R-3" (MEDIUM-DENSITY RESIDENTIRL) ORDINANCE NOS.
495, 508, 667, 762, 768, 779, 793, 853, 892, 893
AND ESTRBLISHING REGULATIONS FOR THE USE OF LAND
AND THE CONSTRUCTION AND USES OF BUILDINGS IN
R-3 DISTRICTS OF BUTTE COUNTY
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of Cali-
fornia, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475 of said County,
being the Toning Enabling Ordinance as amended by Ordinance Nos.
522-and 676, DO ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the County
of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as ar
"R-3" (Medium-Density Residential) District as hereinafter describec
and subject to all of the restricted uses applicable to an "R-3"
District:

Butte County Maps in the office of the Butte
County Planning Commission and in the office
of the Butte County Clerk
SECTION 2. The following regulations shall apply in an "R-3"
(Medium-Density Residential) District:
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. One-family dwellings, two-family dwellings and multiple
family dwellings, not including tents or trailers.
b, Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted uses.
c. Household pets (but not including livestock, poultry
or poisonous reptiles).
2.2 LOT AREA REQUIRED: Minimum area of a lot shall not be less
than eight thousand, one hundred twenty-five (8,125) square feet.
2.3 LOT WIDTH REQUIRED: Minimum lot width shall not be less
than sixty-five (65) feet.
2.4 FRONT YARD REQUIRED: Minimum front yard shall not be less
than fifty (50) feet from the centerline of the road, except~awhere
the road is classified by the County as a Federal Aid Secondary
Road the minimum building setback requirement shall be fifty-five
(55) feet from the centerline of said road.
2.5 SIDE YARDS REQUIRED: Minimum side yards sha11 not be less
than five (5) feet.
2.6 OFF STREET.PARlCING REQ.t;1IRED: Off-street parking shall be
provided on the basis of one (`1) parking. space for each dwelling
unit.
2.7 THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE PERMIT IN
EACH CASE:
a. Golf courses and country clubs.
b. Publie and quasi-public uses including churches, fire-
houses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools and public
,utility buildings.

SECTION 3. All uses of land within the District not specifically
authorized or permitted under Section 2, are prohibited.
SECTION 4. Butte County Ordinance Nos. 495, 508, 667, 762, 768,
779, 793, 853, 892 and 893 are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. In compliance with the provisions of said Zoning
Enabling Ordinance No. 475, the same is amended by adding to
Section 5 thereof, this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 6. The penalties for violation of the zoning hereby im-
posed upon said District sha11 be as provided in the said Enabling
Ordinance.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be and it is hereby declared to
be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days after
the date of its passage; and before the expiration of fifteen (15)
days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be published once with
the names of the members of the Board voting for and against it, in
the Paxadise Post a newspaper published in the County
of Butte, State of California.

Butte, State of California, this z3 day of May 1967, by the
following vote:
