RESOLUTION HONORI1dG JOY MATHEWS
UPON RETIREMENT FROM D.T.STRICT ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
COUNTY OF BUTTE
WHEREAS, Joy Mathews, Supervising Legal Secretary for the.
District Attorney's Chico Office announced her retirement as of
February 26, 1993;
WHEREAS,-Joy Mathews has served the people of the C.~unty
of Butte for ?_0 years, with extraordinary dedication and devotTOn;
WHEREAS, Joy Mathews began her Butte County career in the
Chico Municipal Court in November 1972 where she worked as a
Stenographer- Clerk for a year. and a half before beginning with tyre
Distrir,T. Attorney's office in September 1974 and becoming a
Supervising Legal Secretary in April. 1988; and
WHEREAS, Joy Mathews has earned the respect and admiration
of the entire Butte County law enforcement community as well as her
co-workers throughout her ?_0 years of assiduous and unflagging
determination to get the job done; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
That this Aoar-d, on behalf of the people of. this county as
well as on its own behalf, wish to express to Joy Mathews its
sincere appreciation for her many years of outstanding service to
the people of the County of Rutte, and further wish her well on her
retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors on this 9th day of February 1993 by the following
vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, McLaughlin, Thomas and Chair Houx
