HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-051 ~' RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING BUTTE COUNTY HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COMMUNITY AWARENESS WEER WHEREAS, the week of April 19-23, 1993, has been named "HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COMMUNITY AWARENESS WEEK," to focus attention on issues dealing with the proper disposal and storage of household hazardous waste; and WHEREAS „ "COMMUNITY AWARENESS WEEK" is intended to involve the City of Oroville in creating an educational environment pertaining to household hazardous waste and our community's responsibility for its proper management, a commitment to which Oroville Solid Waste Disposal will promote; and WHEREAS, Oroville Solid Waste is responding to the City of Oroville's need far effective household hazardous waste management and education through the establishment of a new household Hazardous Waste Facility and education and community awareness campaign; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, do here proclaim April 19-23, 1993 as "HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COMMUNITY AWARENESS WEEK", and encourage residents to learn more about household hazardous waste and its correct storage and disposal. BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED, that the residents of Butte County are encouraged to take the time to contact their elected officials and learn about household hazardous waste and other environmental issues in Butte County.
