PAYMENTS FOR IDENTIFYING AND REPORTING THIRD PARTY
HEALTH CARE COVERAGE OF MEDI-CAL BENEFICIARIES
WHEREAS, the State of California, Department of Health
Services, is the single state agency responsible for administering
the Medi-Cal Program; and
WHEREAS, Title XTX of the Social Security Act, Section
1902 (a) (25), requires the agency administering the state Medicaid
Plan to take. reasonable measures to ascertain the legal liability
of third parties to pay for care and services available under the
plan; and
WHEREAS, Welfare and Institutions Code Section 14124.92
provides that the Department of Health Services may make incentive
payments to any oounty agency for identifying and reporting third-
party health care coverage held by ar offered to Medi-Cal
beneficiaries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Butte approves the contract with the
Department of Health Services to provide incentive payments for
identifying and reporting third-party health care coverage of Medi-
cal beneficiaries, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Director of
Social Welfare is authorized to sign the contract on behalf of the
county.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of April, 1993 by the
Butte County Board of Supervisors by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, McLaughlin, Thomas and Chair Houx
