INVESTIGATOR BURT E. AKINS
WHEREAS, this Board expresses its appreciation to District Attorney Investigator
Burt Akins for his 22 years as a law enforcement officer with Butte County.
WHEREAS, Burt Akins began his law enforcement career in the U. S. Air Force
where he served as an air policeman. In 1971 he joined the Butte County Sheriff's Department as
a deputy. He progressed through the ranks as Investigator and Sheriff's Lieutenant. In April 19$3
Investigator Akins transfered to the Butte County District Attorney's office where he has
remained, investigating various major crimes and forming the major narcotics Asset Forfeiture
Unit.
WHEREAS, Burt Akins, has earned the respect and admiration of the entire Butte
County Law Enforcement Community as well as his co-workers through his 22 years of service.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
That this Board, on behalf of the people of this county as well as on its own behalf,
wish to express to Burt Akins its sincere appreciation for his many years of outstanding service
to the people of the County of Butte, and further wish him well in his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on this 29th day
of June 1953 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, AoXan, Thomas and Chair Houx
NOES: Supervisor McLaughlin
