HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-106RESOLIITION IN APPRECIATION OF BETTYE RIRCHER WHEREAS, BETTYE RIRCHER, following various positions in the planning, mapping and zoning field, first came to work in Butte County in 1961 in the mapping division of the Assessor's Office. Leaving the county in 1962, she was hired by the City of Oroville where she was a mapping draftsman in the Engineering Department, On February 1, 1969, she returned to Butte County as a Planning Technician; followed by promotions to Planner I on October 26, 1972, and Planner TI in 1974. WHEREAS, BETTYE RIRCHER, on July 15, 1978, was appointed Interim Planning Director by the Board of Supervisors and through her demonstration of leadership skills, on September 19, 1978, she was appointed to the position of Butte County Planning Director. WHEREAS, BETTYE RIRCHER, during her career, has worked diligently with the Butte County Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors on all countywide land use planning and environmental issues, and was instrumental in the implementation of landmark issues such as the "Greenline" in the Chico Urban Area which protects valuable agricultural lands from urban encroachment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte would like to express their deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion given by BETTYE KIRCHER during her 24 years of service with Butte County.
