THE ISSUE OF MOTOR VESICLE FIIEL AND SALES AND
USE TAX REVENUES FOR PUBLIC MASg TRANSIT PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the Butte County Association of Governments has
recommended that the issue of obtaining Butte County's fair share of
motor vehicle fuel and sales and use tax revenues collected statewide,
for use on projects to improve public mass transit services is of such
significance that it is important to determine the view of the citizens
of Butte County on the subject,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors hereby call a county-wide election to be conducted
November 2, 1993, at which election the following measure shall be
submitted to the voters of Butte County:
Shall a portion of the existing motor vehicle
revenues now collected statewide be spent on public
mass transit projects which benefit Butte County?
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said election shall be
consolidated with the statewide special election to be held on the same
date; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of
Butte is hereby authorized and directed to provide all necessary
services for the conduct of said election, including a rendition of
notices and canvassing of returns.

the following vote , on July 27 , 1993 .
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan and Thomas
NOES; 5upervisar McLaughlin and Chair Houx

A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR AN ELECTION ON THE ISSUE OF
