GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY TO THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
PURSUANT TO DECISION NOS. 73078 AND 82-O1-i8 OF THE
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION IN THE
CITY OF OROVILLE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Btttte as follows:
WHEREAS, by Resolttion No. 4781 of the City Council of the City of Oroville, a public
Bearing was called Tuesday, February 16, 1993, at the hour of 7:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers in
the City Hall, Oroville, California, to ascertain wltetlter the public necessity, health, safety, or welfare
requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and associated overhead structures, and the underground
installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric, conunuztication, or similar or associated service,
within CBat certain area of the City of Oroville on Feather River Boulevard between Oroville Dam
Boulevard and Montgomery Street; and
WHEREAS, notice of such [tearing has been given to all at~'ected property owners and utilities
eoztcerned in the manner and for the time required by law; and
WHEREAS, such hearing ]tas been duly and regularly held, and al] persons interested have been
given an opportunity to be heard; azld ,
WHEREAS, the Colli'ECll of the City of Oroville has, pursuant to Resolution No. 4785 of tBe
City of OroviIle, designated the above-described area as Feather River Boulevard Underground Utility
District of the City of Oroville; and
WHEREAS, the Underground Utility District created by said resolution No. 4785 of the City
of Oroville is in the general public interest for the following reasons:
1. The undergrounding to be accomplished will avoid or eliminate a^ unusually heavy
concentration of overhead distribution facilities.
2. The streets, roads or rights-of way iu the district are exteatsively used by the general public
aztd carry a heavy volume of pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
WHEREAS, the area coutaizted within Feather River Iiou]evard Underground Utility District
is of particular county-wide interest by reasozt of its commercial uses which benefit County and City
residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board hereby attthorizes the utilization
of ~aecessary finids, estimated to be approximately Sb72,000.00 from the amount allocated by Pacific Gas
and Electric Company to the County of Butte purs~~ant to Decision Nos. 73078 and 82-01-18 of the
California Pablic Utilities Commission for the year 1993 for expenditttre on the conversion project to
be carried out in said Feather River Boulevard Underground Utility District.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 27th day of
J~i~y 1993 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, McLaughlizt, Thomas and Chair Houx
