SEPTEMBER b 1443 AS "TRY AMERICAN DAY"
WHEREAS, the spirit of entrepreneurship, pride of
craftsmanship and commitment to quality are recognized throughout
the world, but many times overlooked right here in our own country;
WHEREAS, the creativity and ingenuity of business in the
United States have provided a host of new products and services
which can improve the quality of life not only in the United
States, but in the world;
WHEREAS, our small businesses provide the basis for
American progress and are the engine that drives our economy by
creating more jabs and opportunity for people in every corner of
America;
WHEREAS, American products are a symbol of dedication to
the principles of hard work and excellence;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of
Supervisors, County of Butte, Oroville, California in the United
States of America that Lobar Day be designated "Try American Day."
The Board of Supervisors calls on the citizens of Butte County to
observe the day with appropriate ceremonies and activities and to
hnnar the day through the purchase of American-made goods and
services.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors an this 24th day of August, 1993 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, McLaughlin, Thomas and Chair Houx
