RESOLUTION IMPLEMENTING ARTICLE XV OF CHAPTER 14 OF
THE BUTTE COUNTY CODE, SPECIFYING PARKING RESTRICTIONS
FOR THE PARKING LOTS AT THE COUNTY BUILDING AT 194 MEMORIAL
WAY, THE NORTH BUTTE COUNTY MUNICIPAL COURT AT 655 OLEANDER
AND THE CHICO OFFICE OF THE BUTTE COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT
AT 695 OLEANDER, CHICO
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte finds
that the following parking restrictions far the parking lots at the
County Building on Memorial Way, and North Butte County Municipal
Court and the Chico office of the Butte County Health Department on
Oleander, Chico, would further the efficient conduct of County
business and the convenience of the public it serves.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED:
1. Parkin Restrictions Im osed. Pursuant to Article XV,
Sections 1.4-100 through 14-104 of the Butte County Code, the
following parking restrictions are hereby imposed for the off-
street parking lots north of the county building at 396 Memorial
Way and on either side of the North Butte County Municipal Court
building at 655 Oleander Avenue, Chico, and far the parking lot
surrounding the Health Department building at 695 Oleander Avenue,
Chico.
2. South side of North Butte Count Munici al Court. Each
entrance to the off-street parking lot on the south side of the
North Butte County Municipal Court shall be marked with a sign

clearly visible and legible to persons driving vehicles into said
parking lot, which signs shall read as follows:
"All parking spaces, including disabled (blue}, 30 minute
{green}, and undesignated spaces, are for public parking
for County business only. Spaces designated "reserved"
are for Butte County employees and County vehicles only.
Violators will be cited and unauthorized vehicles towed
away at owner's expense."
Far the purposes of Section 2 of this resolution, "County
employees" are those officers or employees assigned ar employed
either on a full ar part-time basis to work in the County building
at 195 Memorial Way or at the North Butte County Municipal Court.
Only such Caunty employees may park their personal vehicles in
those spaces designated "reserved." "County vehicles" are Caunty
owned vehicles with "E" license plates and the Veterans' Services
van.
3. North side of _North Butte County Municipal Court. The
entrance to the parking lot on the north side of the Municipal
Court shall be marked with a sign clearly visible and legible to
persons driving vehicles into said parking lot, which sign shall
read as follows:
"All parking spaces, including 30 minute (green) and
spaces designated !'reserved" are for County business
only. Spaces designated "reserved" are for Butte Caunty
employees and County vehicles only. Violators will be
cited and unauthorized vehicles towed away at owner's

expense."
For the purposes of Section 3 of this resolution, "County
employees" are those officers or employees assigned or employed
either an a full or part-time basis to work in the County building
at 196 Memorial Way or at the North Butte County Municipal Court.
Only such County employees may park their personal vehicles in
those spaces designated "reserved." "County vehicles" are County
owned vehicles with "E" license plates. The "no parking" zone
shall be for use by the Sheriff's department van only and all other
parking in said "no parking" zone shall be prohibited.
4. Health De artment. Each entrance to the off-street
parking lot at the Health Department building shall be marked with
a sign clearly visible and legible to persons driving vehicles into
said parking lot, which signs shall read as follows:
"All parking spaces, including disabled (blue), 30 minute
(green), and spaces designated "reserved" are far County
business only. Spaces designated "reserved" are for
Butte County employees and County vehicles only. The
space marked "loading zone" shall be reserved for loading
and unloading purposes of the County. Violators will be
cited and unauthorized vehicles towed away at owner's
eXpenSe."
For the purposes of Section 4 of this resolution, "County
employees" are those personnel employed either on a full or part-
time basis by the County of Butte and assigned to work in the
County building at 196 Memorial Way or at the Health Department

building at 695 oleander Avenue, Chico. Only such County employees
may park their personal vehicles in those spaces designated
"reserved." "County vehicles" are County owned vehicles with "E"
license plates. "Loading and unloading purposes of the County"
includes, but is not limited ta, loading and unloading by County
general services couriex- and maintenance vehicles.
5. Violations. Violators of the above parking restrictions
will be cited and unauthorized vehicles towed away at the owner's
expense pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 22651(n) and
Butte County Code Section 14-46.5
6. Parking space designation and„marking. The disabled, timed
spaces and otherwise designated spaces in said parking lots shall
be as indicated on the attached map, and shall be marked as
follows:
(a) The disabled spaces shall be designated by:
{1} A blue curb at the end of the spaces;
(2) The standard disabled parking sign at the curb and
of each space dividing lines separating adjacent
disabled parking spaces, as specified in Vehicle
Code Sections 2251..${a}(d) and 22511.9; and
{3) The standard disabled parking symbol painted on the
parking lot surface at the entrance to each
disabled space.
{b) The 30 minute spaces shall be designated by a green curb
at the end of the spaces.
{c) The "reserved" spaces shall be designated by the word

"reserved" on the curb at the end of the spaces.
(d) The "no parking" spaces shall be designated by a red curb
at the end of the spaces.
(e) The loading zone spaces shall be designated by a yellow
curb at the end of the spaces.
7. Repeal of previous parking resolutions. Resolution No. 85-
144, passed and adopted on September 17, 1985, and any other
resolution specifying parking restrictions for said parking lots,
are hereby superseded and repealed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors this 12th day of October 1993 by the
following vote:
