HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-153WHEREAS, WARREN LOFFTIIS joined the California Highway Patrol on August 9, 1965. Upon completion of the Academy, he was assigned to the Newhall area in December 1955. In February, 1969 while assigned to the Newhall area, he was seriously injured after being shot in the stomach while making a traffic stop. WHEREAS, WARREN LOFFTIIS, during his career, served as a traffic officer in the Redwood City area. In 1977, Officer Lofftus was promoted to sergeant and assigned to Central Los Angeles where he served until June, 1980; WHEREAS, WARREN LOFFTOS, in June 7.980, was promoted to lieutenant and assigned as the Vehicle Theft Coordinator in Golden Gate Division, where he was responsible for directing the Department's vehicle theft and insurance fraud operations in the nine bay area counties. WHEREAS, WARREN LOFFTUS, in July 1982, was selected to serve as the Garberville Area Commander. While in Garberville, he was involved in the initial "Campaign Against Marijuana Pragramrr and the initial "Mini 14 Program". WHEREAS, WARREN LOFFTIIS, in February 1989, was selected to serve as the Chico Area Commander where he served until August 9, 1993 when he retired. WHEREAS, WARREN LOFFTIIS, during his career, was a member of various civic and fraternal organizations in the communities where he served. He served as one of the Department's Cultural Awareness instructors and as a team leader for Valley Division's Officer Involved Shooting Investigation Unit. WHEREAS, WARREN LOFFTIIB, upon his retirement, will have served as a uniformed member for 29 1/2 years from State service and over 31 years in the State Retirement system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte would like to express their deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion given by WARREN R. LOFFTIIS, CHICO AREA COMMANDER during his career with the California Highway Patrol. RESOLCITION IN APFRECIATION WARREN R.
