HomeMy WebLinkAbout93-169RESOLUTION SETTING OFFICE HOURS ASSESSOR AND RECORDER'S OFFICES WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has recognized a need to modify public access hours in certain departments to obtain efficiency using existing staff; and WHEREAS, Butte County Code Section 2-1 provides that the Board of Supervisors may adopt resolutions specifying those office hours which a department will be open to public business transactions; and WHEREAS, the Assessor and Recorder provide service to the same public interests and common public hours wi11 reduce public confusion; and WHEREAS, the Assessor and Recorder must allow for data processing time within normal work shifts; and WHEREAS, the Recorder is required to process all documents received on the day of receipt; and WHEREAS, the inability of the Assessor to process transfer documents in a timely manner could cause severe inconvenience and hardship to the new owners of property; and WHEREAS, the Assessor and Recorder need additional uninterrupted staff time to process complex documents with reduced staff levels: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that the offices of the Assessor and Recorder will be open to the public between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on all days designated as regular work days.' BE IT FURTHER RE RESOLVED, that Resolution 93-120, passed on August 10, 1993 relating to office hours of the Gounty Recorder's Office, is hereby rescinded.- PASSED AND ADAPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, on the 4th day of November ~ ~gg~ by the fallowing vote: AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, McLaughlin, Thomas and Chaa.r Houx NOES : None ABSENT : none l~ NOT VOTING : None '~~ r ~ ~.
