OF COUNTY WELFARE OFFICES
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors ("Board") has
recognized a need to modify public access hours in certain
departments to obtain efficiency using existing staff; and,
WHEREAS, the Board has also recognized the need to modify
public access hours in certain ,departments such that those
departments will continue to provide service in accordance with
state and federal legal regulation and mandates; and,
WHEREAS, Butte County Code Section 2-1 (Ordinance 2241)
provides that the Board of Supervisars may adopt resolutions
specifying those office hours which a department will be open to
public business transactions; and,
WHEREAS, the Butte County Department of Social Welfare
("Department"} has previously maintained public office hours of
8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the County Welfare Office, 42 County
Center Drive, Oroville, Monday through Thursday and 8:30 A.M. to
12:00 P.M. on Fridays, since May of 1994 (by Resolution 90-38);
and,
WHEREAS, the Department is legally mandated and required to
make certain limited immediate need, documentation and application
services available on non-holiday weekdays.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisars as follows:
1. The Department's current public hours at its facilities
located at 42 County Center Drive, Oroville shall remain
8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and,
2. The Department's Director is authorized to provide
limited public access on Fridays, but only to the extent
necessary to comply with applicable law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on
the 9th of November, 1993, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, McLaughlin, Thomas and Chair Houx
