PROCLAMATION IN RECOGNITION OF ~,~HE
CALIFORNIA RETIRED TEACHERS l[~SO~iIf20ri 1V0. 93-200
WHEREAS, the California Retired Teachers Association
(CRTA) promotes excellence in public education; and
WHEREAS, the CRTA, through its division programs, awards
almost one-quarter million dollars in scholarships each year to
deserving students; and
WHEREAS, CRTA members donate over one million hours of
volunteer time and energy to community service; and
WHEREAS, the CRTA is dedicated to the safeguard and
improvement of-the retirement benefits of its members; and
WHEREAS, the CRTA endorses the concept of "to serve, and
not be served"; and
WHEREAS, the CRTA promotes the professional interests of
the public school teacher; and
WHEREAS, the CRTA sponsors the annual "Day of the
Teacher"; and
WHEREAS, the CRTA maintains resources of valuable
information and makes it available to its members; and
WHEREAS, the CRTA promotes the welfare and social
relationships of its members;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE80LVED that the Butte County
Board of Supervisors do, hereby, in recognition of the planned
activities of CRTA for its 65th year in existence, proclaim that
May 21, 1994 is the 65th birthday of the California Retired
Teachers Association.
