RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING AIDS AWARENESS WEER
APRIL 10 - 17, 1994
WHEREAS, the worldwide spread of HIV infection and AIDS
necessitates local, national and global efforts of increased
education and preventive action to stop the spread of AIDS, and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Task Farce on AIDS has
established the week of April 10-17, 1994 to be AIDS AWARENESS WEEK
for Butte County, to expand and strengthen the local efforts to
stop AIDS, and
WHEREAS, increased education for those at highest risk of
AIDS, and of the youth of Butte County are the goals of AIDS
AWARENESS WEEK in order to reflect the importance of prevention in
addressing the challenge of this life threatening disease,
THEREFORE, we, the Butte County Board of Supervisors do
hereby declare April 10-17, 1994 to be AIDS AWARENESS WEEK and urge
all of our citizens to take part in activities and observances
designed to increase awareness and understanding of AIDS as a
local, national and worldwide challenge, and to take part in AIDS
prevention activities and programs.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of April, 1994 by the
Butte County Board of Supervisors by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Thomas and Chair nlcLaughlin

ABSENT : None
