Works, announced his retirement as of July 2, 1994; and
WHEREAS, William Cheff began his career with the County of
Butte in 1961, as a Junior Civil Engineer in the Department of
Public Works, advancing within the Department in responsible
engineering positions, to become Assistant Director of Public Works
in December 1981, and Acting Director of Public Works in February
1984. On July 3, 1984, he was appointed Director of Public Works,
his present position; and
WHEREAS, William Cheff worked in the public works engineering
and administration fields for many years, earning the respect of
fellow employees, engineers, surveyors, contractors, developers and
others involved in public works activities in Butte County; and
WHEREAS, William Cheff has diligently served the residents of
the County of Butte for 32 1/2 years with extraordinary distinction
and leadership;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own
behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, wish
to express to William Cheff sincere appreciation for his many years
of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the
residents of the County of Butte, and further wish him well on his
retirement.
PASBED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, this 28th, day of June 1994, by the
following vote:
AYES; Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, Houx, Thomas and-Chair McLaughlin
