WALLACE A. HERRING

OF
WHEREAS, WALLY HERRING, following employment with the Los
Angeles and Orange County Probation Departments and service with
the U.S. Army, was hired as Assistant Chief Probation Officer in
Butte County on November 4, 1970, and
WHEREAS, WALLY HERRING has received a Masters Degree in Public
Administration from the University of Southern California, and
WHEREAS, WALLY HERRING was appoixa.ted Chief Probation Officer
of Butte County on October 1, 1978, and
WHEREAS, WALLY HERRING has served on and chaired various
inter-agency boards within the County, and
WHEREAS, WALLY HERRING has represented the County at the State
level and served on State groups, including the State Juvenile
Justice and Delinquency Prevention Commission, which service has
affected statewide criminal justice programs and policies, and
WHEREAS, WALLY HERRING has initiated various programs which
have contributed to public ,safety and the well being of our youth,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, oxa. its own
behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte,
would like to express their deep appreciation far the unselfish
dedication and devotion given by WALLY HERRING during his 23 and
one-half years of service to the County of Butte.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on
this 28th day of June, 3.994, by the fallowing vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, DoXan, Houx, Thomas and Chair McLaughlin
