RECOMMENDING APPROVING AND SUPPORTING CHANGES IN
PENDING LEGISLATION RE; CHANGES IN
BIITTE COIINTY MUNICIPAL COIIRT SYSTEM
WHEREAS, certain changes have been made as to salaried
positions in the Butte County Municipal Court system affecting the
Government Code Sections listed below. Tt is recommended that said
sections be amended as follows:
PROPOSED LEGISLATION FOR THE BIITTE COIINTY MUNICIPAL
COURTS SECTION 74937 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE TO READ;
§ 74937. Judge-appointed positions
(a} The presiding judge of the North Butte County Municipal
Court may appoint the following positions:
(1) one municipal court administrator
(2) One assistant municipal court administrator or
supervising court clerk
(3) Three supervising court clerks
(4) Ten court clerks III, II or Office Assistant III
(5) Four Court Clerks TT, T or Office Assistant II, I
(6) One accounting specialist or senior account clerk
(7) One and one--half court reporters
(b) The presiding judge of the South Butte County Municipal
Court may appoint the following positions:
(1} One municipal court administrator
(2) One assistant municipal court administrator or
supervising court clerk
(3} Two supervising court clerks or court clerk III, II or
office assistant III
(4) Four court clerks III, II or office assistant III
(5) Seven court clerks II, I or office assistant II, I
(6} One accounting specialist or senior account clerk
(7) One and one-half court reporters
{8) One office assistant II, I
§ 74940 of the Government Code be amended to read:
Whenever reference is made to a range number in this section
of this article, the schedule of biweekly salaries shall be that as
set forth in the Butte County Salary Ordinance.

(d) Court clerk I - range 1088
(e) Court clerk II - range 1108
(f} Court clerk ZII - range 1128
(g) Office assistant III - range 1077
(h) Office assistant II - range 1057
(i) Office assistant I - range 1037
(j} Accounting specialist - range 1102
(k) Senior account clerk - range 1082
(1} Account Clerk -- range 1062
(m) Court reporter - range 1210

WHEREAS, in adopting this resolution, the Board of
Supervisors of Butte County recognizes and acknowledges that the
resolution constitutes a "local request" as defined by and within
the meaning of Government Code Section 17556 (a) and that Butte
County is therefore precluded from obtaining any reimbursement of
any resultant costs from the state under Section 6 of Article XIII
B of the California Constitution.
FIIRTHER, BE IT RESOLVED, that this resolution rescinds
resolution 94-20 passed and adapted on February 22, 1994.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board
of Supervisors that the above-cited recommendations of amendments
to the Government Code are appraved, the Board supports the
amendments as indicated, and accepts the responsibility for funding
of said changes.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors this 28th day of June, 1994 by the following vote:
