BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE N0.
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA
(Vehicle Code Section 22358)

The Board of Supervisars of the County of Butte, State of California do
ordain as follows:

Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described
come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (b5) miles per
hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highway, and determines and
declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows:
A. That a prima facie speed limit of THIRTY-FIVE X35) miles per hour
is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES

signs be placed at appropriate locations on,~he hereinafter-described County
highway, to wit:
1. 18th STREET FROM GRAND AVENUE TO TEHAMA AVENUE.
2. 16th STREET FROM GRAND AVENUE TO NELSON AVENUE.
3. MIDDLEHOFF LANE FROM STATE HIGHWAY 162 TO END,
4. OROVLLLE-BANGOR HIGHWAY FROM 500 FEET NORTHWESTERLY OF
BANGOR PARK ROAD TO LA FORTE ROAD.
5. LOS VERJELES ROAD FROM LA FORTE ROAD TO 1D00 FEET SOUTHEASTERLY.
6. LA FORTE ROAD FROM 1000 FEET SOUTHEESTERLX OF OROVILLE-BANGOR
HIGHWAY TO 1000 FEET NORTHEASTERLY OF OROVTLLE-BANGOR HIGHWAY.
7. GARDEN RANCH ROAD FROM LOWER WYANDOTTE ROAD TO FOOTHILL
BOULEVARD
$. That a prima facie speed limit of FORTY (40j miles per hour is
hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 40 MILES
signs be glaced at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
highways, to wit:
i. LOTT ROAD FROM DURHAM HIGHWAY TO OROVILLE-CHICO HIGHWAY,
2.. COHASSET ROAD FROM 3000 FEET NORTH OF COHASSET SCHOOL TO
1,0 MILE SOUTH OF COHASSET SCHOOL,
C. That a prima facie speed limit of FORTY-FIVE (45) miles per hour
is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LTMTT 45 MILES
signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
highway= to wit:

2 n. That a prima facie speed limit of FIFTY (50) miles per hour is
3 hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 50 MILES
¢ signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
5 highway, to wit:
6 1. GRIDLEY-COLUSA HIGHWAX FROM BLOCK ROAD TO JONES AVENUE. '
q Section 2: A11 ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
$ are hereby repealed.
g Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
10 of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the
11 invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section? or term thereof,
12 shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same
13 inoperative or invalid.
1¢; Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
15 hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
16 speed limit established herein, within thirty X30) days of the adoption
lq hereof.
1g This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
19 before the expiration of fifteen days after its passages it shall be
20, published with the names of the members voting for and against the same,
21 once in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of
22 California.
23'. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
2¢' State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 18~h day of
25 Jv.ly , 1967 by the following vote:
