HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-145WHEREAS, Ted Cleveland, Assessor, announced his retirement as of December 30, 1994; and
WHEREAS, Ted Cleveland began his career in the Assessor's office April 1, 1969 as a junior appraiser,
advancing within the department, holding the positions of Appraiser II, Appraiser Ill, Supervising Appraiser,
Assessment Standards Officer, Assistant Assessor and was elected to serve as Assessor beginning January 1986 and
was re-elected for a second term in 1990.
WHEREAS, Ted C1eveIand served as President for the Northern California Assessors' Association,
President for the Ten Northern Assessors' Association; served on the Executive Committee, Standards Committee,
and Ethics Committee for the California Assessors' Association; served as chairman for the Butte County
Management Council; President for the Chief Appraisers' Association, and
WHEREAS, Ted Cleveland served his community by participating on the United Way Board of Directors,
Butte College Foundation Board, Rotary Club of Paradise, Paradise Chamber of Cornzr-erce Board of Directors,
Paradise Elks Lodge, Exalted Ruler, Member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Moose Lodge, E. Clampus Vitus
Organization, Chairman for the Channel 9 Auction; Coached Youth Sports in Football and Little League Baseball.
WHEREAS, Ted Cleveland, was instrumental in upgrading the Assessor's office computer system and
the mapping auto-cad system; designing the original lay-out of the Assessor's off ce;
WHEREAS, Ted Cleveland diligently served the residents of the County of Butte for 25 years with his
extraordinary dedication and leadership skills;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE YT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the
residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Ted Cleveland sincere appreciation for his many years of
unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and further wish him
well on his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, this
27th day of December, 1994, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, Roux, Thomas and Chair McLaughlin
