AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND CONSOLIDATING ORDINANCE NOS. 594, 621, 669, 767, $74, 894 and 804, 809', 815, and establishing regulations for the use of land and the construction and uses of buildings in "M-2" Districts of Butte County 2'. S The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State pf Cali- fornia> does ordain as follows: 4' SECTION 1. The hereinafter described area situate in the County s' of Butte, State of California, shall b~ and it is hereby zoned as an "M-2" (Heavy Industrial) District as hereinafter described and 6 subject to all of the restricted uses applicable to an "P~-2° District: 7 Rs shown by map attached and as shown on $', Butte County (Yiap in the office of the Butte County Planning Commission and in 9 the office of the Butte County Clerk 10' SECTIOP[ 2. The following regulations shall apply in an "P•i-2" j (Heavy Industrial) District: 11' 2.1 Uses Permitted: 12 a. Any uses permitted in C-1, C-2 and i`l-1 Districts. 13; b. Aircraft factories, manufacturing of asbestos, assaying, boi]er works, breweries and distilleries, candle manu- 14'. factoring, carbon manufacturing, cellulose materials manufactur- ing, chain and cable manufacturing, disinfectants manufacturing, 15 dry kilns, emery cloth and sandpaper manufacturing, enameling, feed and cereal mills, foundries, freight terminals, galvaniz- 161 ing and lead plating,, glass or glass product manufacturing, lamp black manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, soda and lq; cleaning compound manufacturing, rnatch manufacturing, metal fabrication,-oil cloth of linoleum manufacturing, oxygen mono= lg factoring, paint manufacturing, paper box manfacturing, petrol- eum.distributing stations (wholesale or retail},plywood manu- 19 factoring, printing ink manufacturing, railroad yards or round- houses, rope manufacturing, soap and soap compound manufactur- 20 ing, starch, Glucose or dextrine manufacturing, vegetable oil manufacturing, welding shops and sheet metal shops, wood planing 21; mill or woodworking plants, yeast plants and other similar in- dustrial enterprises or businesses in character to those enumer- 22 ated when interpreted as similar by the Planning Commission. c. Canneries, olive processing plants and other agricul- 23 tural processing plants of similar nature. 24 2.2 h9inimum Setback Required: Fifty (50) feet from the center- line of the road except where the road is classified as a 25, Federal Air Secondary and then the minimum setbacl; shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the centerline of said road. 26 2.3 i•iinimum Building Site Area Required: None, except as may 27 be required for building and for off-street loading area and paf'kng space as set forth. below under 'Truck Loading 28' and llnlowding Space'. 29 2.4 Side Yards: Minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5} feet. 30 2.5 Rear Yard: P~linimum rear yard shall not be less than 31 five (5) feet. 32 2.6 Accessory uses, and buildings permitted pertinent to any permitted use. 1 2 3' 4 5: s 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 I5 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24'' 25 26: 27 28 29 30 31 2.7 Off-street Parking Required: One parking space for each three {3) employees, or one parking space for each two thousand (2,000) Square feet of gross floor space, whicheve is greatest. 2.$ Truck Loading and Unloading Space: Private off-street loading space for the handling of all goods, materials and equipment shall be provided. Such space shall be of :: sufficient area and of such design as to permit the parking and loading of vehicles without extending into any existing street beyond the curb line. 2.9 The following uses subject to the securing of a use permit in each case: a. Any residential dwelling or use. b. Commercial distillation of bones, abattoirs, auction yards, commercial livestock feed yards, commercial millings, canneries ,. lumber and lumber processing, tanneries, fat rendering, garbage fed commercial hog raising, food and agriculture product processing plants c. Storage of inflammables. d. Commercial or public dumping and disposal areas. e. Pianufacturing of acids, explosives, fertilizer, glue, gypsum, lime, plaster of Paris, pulp and paper, beet sugar, crushed rock, sand and gravel, cement, concrete and/or asphalt botching plants, concrete and clay products. f. Industrial uses which might be objectionable by reason of emission of noise, offensive odor, smoke, dust, bright light, vibration or involving the handling of explosives or danterous materials. g. Junk .yards and auto wrecking uards. SECTION 3. All uses of land within the district not specifical- ly authorized or permitted under Section 2 are prohibited. SECTION 4. Butte County Ordinance Nos. 594, 621, 669, 767, 879-, 894 and 804, 809, 815 are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. In compliance with the provisions of said `Coning Enabling Ordinance the same is hereby amended by adding to Section 5 thereof, this Ordinance in full. SECTION 6. The penalties for violatir,n of the zoning hereby im- posed upon said District shall be as pr.QVi'd•ed in the said Zoning ~' Enabling Ordinance. SECTION 7. This Drdinance shall be and it is hereby declared t be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage this Ordinance shall be published once with the ames a,f the memb~rs odf the Board voting for and against it in the ~hico ~.nterprise-~ecor a newspaper published in the Count of Butte, State of California.
