WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services of the County of
Butte does hereby find:
That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and
property have arisen within said County, in that commencing on or
about 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 1995 a succession of wind
and rainstorms has resulted in the wide spread flooding of low
lying residential and agricultural areas in Butte County causing
significant property damage. In addition the National Weather
Service has advised that a new storm is expected to hit Butte
County around 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 1995 and deposit another four
inches of rain. Should that happen additional flooding, property
damage and loss of life may occur; and
That the Board of Supervisors is not in session (and cannot
immediately be called into session).
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that a local emergency
now exists throughout said County; and
TT TS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence
of said local emergency the powers, functions and duties of the
emergency organization of this County shall be those prescribed by
state law, by charter, ordinances, resolution of this County, and
by the County of Butte Emergency Plan, as approved by the Board of
Supervisors on April 21, 1992.
