HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-002WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1323 of the County of Butte empowers the
Board of Supervisors to proclaim the existence ar threatened existence
of a local emergency when said County is affected or likely to be
affected by a public calamity; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors has been requested by the
Director of Emergency Services of said County to proclaim the existence
of a local emergency therein; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors does hereby find:
That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and
property have arisen within said County, caused by a succession of wind
and rainstorms which have resulted in the wide spread flooding of low
lying residential and agricultural areas causing, or threatening,
significant property damage and risk to human life, commencing on or
about 8:00 a.m. on the 7th day of January, 1995; and
That the aforementioned conditions of extreme peril warrant and
necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, TT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that a local emergency now
exists throughout said County; and
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of
said local emergency the powers, functions and duties of the Director of
Emergency Services and the emergency organization of this County shall
be those prescribed by state law, by charter, ordinances, resolutions of
this County, and by the County of Butte Emergency Plan, as approved by
the Board of Supervisors on April 21, 1992.
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that said local emergency
shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed
by the Board f Su ervisors of the County of Butte, State of California.
