HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-022PROCLAMATION OF E~STENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1323 of the County of Butte empowers the Board of Supervisors to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when said County is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity; and WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors has proclaimed a local emergency by Resolution Na. 95-92 an January 10, 1995; and WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors does hereby find: That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property continue within said County, caused by a succession of wind and rainstorms which have resulted in the wide spread flooding of low lying residential and agricultural areas causing, or threatening, significant property damage and risk to human life, commencing on or about 5:00 a.m. on the 7th day of January, 1995; and That the aforementioned conditions of extreme peril warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that a local emergency now exists throughout said County; and IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of said local emergency the powers, functions and duties of the Director of Emergency Services and the emergency organization of this County shall be those prescribed by state law, by charter, ordinances, resolutions of this County, and by the County of Butte Emergency Plan, as approved by the Board of Supervisors on April 21, 1992.
