WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1323 of the County of Butte empowers the Board of Supervisors
to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when said County is affected
or likely to be affected by a public calamity; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors has proclaimed a local emergency by Resolution No.
95-40 on March 14, 1995; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors does hereby find:
That conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property continue within said
County, caused by a succession of wind and rainstorms which have resulted in the wide spread
flooding of low Iying residential and agricultural azeas causing, or threatening, significant property
damage and risk to human life, commencing on or about 9:40 a. m. on_ the 9th day of Mazch, 1995;
and
That the aforementioned conditions of extreme peril warrant and necessitate the proclamation
of the existence of a local emergency.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIlVIED that a local emergency now exists
throughout said County; and
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIlVIED AND ORDERED that during the existence of said local
emergency the powers, functions and duties of the Director of Emergency Services and the
emergency organization of this County shall be those prescribed by state iaw, by charter, ordinances,
resolutions of this County, and by the County of Butte Emergency Plan, as approved by the Board
of Supervisors on Apri121, 1992.
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that said local emergency shall be
deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors thus 28th day of
March, 1995, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Megez, Bolan, Houx, 2homas and Chair McLaughlin
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
