Beach, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and Social Science in 1961; attended the
University of California, Los Angeles, School of Law; attended the University of Southern California
Graduate School of Library Science; and received her Master's Degree in Library Science from
Rutgers University in 1968; and
WHEREAS, ROSE-ELLEN LEONARD honed her skills in librarianship while working at
the Libraries of the California State College, Long Beach and Chico campuses, the Newport Beach
Public Library, and the Chicago Public Library; and
WHEREAS, since 1981, ROSE-ELLEN LEONARD has acted as Consultant to, and
Director of the Butte County Law Library, until her retirement for medical reasons in 1995; and
WHEREAS, ROSE-ELLEN LEONARD has Faithfully served the citizens, judges, litigants,
and attorneys who have used the Butte County Law Library with professionalism, dedication and
courtesy during her tenure; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Law Library is one of the finest in the North State, due to the
innovation and organizational skills of ROSE-ELLEN LEONARD.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and on
behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to ROSE-ELLEN LEONARD sincere
appreciation for her many years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the
residents of the County of Butte, and further wish her well on her retirement.

ROSE-ELLEN LEONARD
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, this 9th day of May, 1995, by the following vote:
