Program has, in the past, been a Planning function; and
WHEREAS, issues pertaining to economic planning and development relate
directly to the activities of the Development Services Department; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Department of Development Services is responsible
for the development of the Housing Element of the General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and the Director of Development
Services concur that the Community Development Block Grant should logically be administered
by the Development Services Department; and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors finds that the reassignment
will continue the orderly administration of the Community Development Block Grant program,
and will enhance coordination of overall County housing and economic development goals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
The Department of Development Services will, upon the effective date of this resolution, assume
the duties and responsibilities from the Department of Public Works the administration of the
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
BUTTE APPROVING THE MOVEMENT OF THE ADMINISTRATION OF
THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK PROGRAM FROM PUBLIC
WORKS TO DEVELOPMENT SERVICES.
Community Development Block Grant program, including any outstanding administrative duties
pending from previous years grants.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Department of Development Services will
coordinate its efforts with the Board of Supervisors and other interested Departments in
establishing new housing and economic development programs un the Community Development
Block Grant program.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Boazd of Supervisors on this
23rd day OfMay 1995by the follo~c+ing vote:
