HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-097RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF CHESTER L. WARD UPON RETIREMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH WHEREAS, Chester L. Ward, Director of the Department of Public Health, announced his retirement as of August 1, 1995; and WHEREAS, Chester L. Ward graduated from the University of Southern California Medical School in 1962. He completed his residency in preventive medicine and received his Master of Public Health degree at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1966; and WHEREAS, Chester L. Ward served in the United States Army for 27 years and rose to the rank of Brigadier General. He served as Physician to The White House and has held teaching, consultive and administrative positions prior to his employment in Butte County; and WHEREAS, Chester L. Ward has diligently served as Director and Health Officer for the Department of Public Health for 10 years. He is a past president of the Butte-Glenn Medical Society, and he has represented the California Conference of Local Health Officers on the State Emergency Medical Services Committee. He has provided leadership in protecting the public through the promotion of individual, community and environmental health. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Chester L. Ward sincere appreciation for his many years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and further wish him well on his retirement.
