WHEREAS, this matter came on regularly for hearing before the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
on JUNE 27, 1995, in the Board Chambers, Butte County
Administration Building, Oroville, California; and,
WHEREAS, Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000 imposes
an indigent health care obligation on the county and prior law
provided for the allocation of state funds to local agencies for
the provision of health care to eligible persons under the County
Medical Services Program (CMSP); and,
WHEREAS, section ].6809 of the California Welfare and
Institutions Code allows counties with populations under 300,000 to
elect to participate in the CMSP and current law permits each
county desiring to participate in the CMSP to establish the CMSP
governing board to govern the CMSP and to establish eligibility and
benefit levels and rates; and,
WHEREAS, section 16809 of the Welfare and Institutions Code
permits participating counties to contract with the Governing Board
of the CMSP to administer those funds governed by Section 1.6809;
and,
WHEREAS, testimony and evidence, both oral and documentary,
having been produced at said hearing, the Board now finds it to be
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE AND
THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE COUNTY MEDICAL SERVICES PROGRAM FOR
FISCAL YEAR 1.995 - 1996
desirable to contract with the Governing Board of the CMSP for the
aforementioned purpose;
NOW, THEREk'ORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED as follows:
1. The Chair of the Board of Supervisors is authorized to
sign the proposed contract far fiscal year 1995 - 1996 between the
County of Butte and the Governing Board of the CMSP.

this 2'7.-th day of June, 1995, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Meyer, Dolan, Houx, Thomas and Chair McLaughlin
