HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-120~,~. w:a ~_ R~~sc~lufion RESOLUTION DECLARING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER AS "OUTDOOR RECREATION AND TOURISM MONTH" FOR BUTTE COUNTY !~~~~. 95-120 WHEREAS, Butte County was founded in 1850 and encompasses 1,660 square miles of beautiful natural resources; and WHEREAS, Butte County's history is rich in culture and has made significant contributions to California's prosperity. Butte County citizens have preserved that heritage for the enjoyment of visitors to our communities; and WHEREAS, Butte County has a variety of year round recreational opportunities available for individuals and families everywhere; and WHEREAS, Butte County has developed opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy fishing, hunting, bicycling, hiking, boating, sailing, water-sking, swimming, tubing, golfing, camping, picnicking, touring wildlife preserves, siteseeing and visiting its many historical locations; and WHEREAS, Butte County has many opportunities to enjoy the performing arts; and WHEREAS, Butte County will host the annual Outdoor Writers Association of California Conference on October 1, 2, and 3, 1995. Butte County's cities and towns also hold annual celebrations throughout the year to commemorate their heritage, contributions and showcase their many products and talents.
