RESOLUTION DISCOURA(:1N(~ 1'HE SALE OF Ll(1UUR
ON GRIDLEY NIGN SCHOOL GRADUATION DAY
WHEREAS, the merchants authorized to sell alcoholic beverages in the City of Gridley are
concerned about the public welfare and the high accident rate attributed to alcoholic consumption by
underage individuals; and
WHEREAS, Gridley High Schoal Graduation Day is June 7, l 996; and
WHEREAS, the merchants wish to promote a safe and temperate graduation day; and
WHEREAS, merchants may wish to pledge not to sell any alcoholic beverages starting
Midnight June 6, all day June 7, and until 6:00 a.m. June 8, 1996; and
WHEREAS, to call attention to the community's responsibility to all its children, merchants
may join in not se}ling alcoholic beverages during this period.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
wholeheartedly commends and approves of this endeavor; and
BE LT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors supports and encourages
all businesses that sell alcoholic beverages to join this effort and not sell alcoholic beverages from
Midnight, June b to 6:00 a.m. on June 8, 199G.
FASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors this 28th day of May, 1996, by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Houx, Thomas and Chair McLaughlin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Meyer
