I s ~l ,. - UTION IN APPRECIATION OF TERRY GAYLAND JONES SR. AS FOSTER PARENT IN BUTTE COUNTY WHEREAS, Terry Gayland Jones Sr. was born in Oakland, California on October 29, 1941 and entered into rest March 30, 1996 in Paradise, California. WHEREAS, Terry Jones provided service to the public as an employee of the U.S. Postal Service for 27 years. WHEREAS, Terry Jones and his family, as licensed foster parents for 11 years, provided a home and care for over 20 foster children in Butte County. WHEREAS, Terry Jones organized the Butte County Toy Run, an annual function which has provided toys, Christmas gifts and cash donations for special needs to needy children in Butte County since 1987. WHEREAS, Terry Jones continued to organize and improve the Toy Run until his death on March 30, 1996. WHEREAS, Through the efforts of Terry Jones, this benefit to needy children and families will continue through the establishment of an ongoing Toy Run committee and memorial fund. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, would like to express their deep appreciation for the unselfish dedication and devotion to children shown by Terry Gayland Jones, Sr. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of supervisors this 2s TH day of May, 1996, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dolan., Houx, Thomas and Chair McLaughlin NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor Meyer NOT VOTING: None ;~ ED McLAUGHLIN, C air Butte County Boar of Supervisors ATTEST: JOHN S.
