HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-112WHEREAS, this Board expresses its appreciation to RONALD CHAPLIN for his 26
plus years as a law enforcement officer with the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
WHEREAS, RONALD CHAPLIN joined the Butte County Sheriff s Office in 1970
as a Reserve Deputy and worked Intelligence. In 1971 he was appointed Deputy Sheriff and
worked his way through the ranks to Lieutenant. He is well known for his leadership in the
Butte County Marijuana Eradication Program. His unit became known as "Bon's Raiders",
the nemises of Butte County marijuana growers. Successful operations in that program
required intricate coordination between air-ground teams, state and federal agencies. His
expertise in marijuana eradication has put a large dent in the number of marijuana growers in
Butte County. CHAPLIN was instrumental in obtaining aizplanes and helicopters for the
Sheriff's Office.
WHEREAS, after serving the citizens of Butte County for 26 plus years, LT.
RONALD CHAPLIN retired on October 1, 1996.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors, on its own
behalf and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte:
That said Board expresses their deep appreciation for the unself sh dedication and
devotion given BY LT. RONALD CHAPLIN during his 26 plus years with the Butte County
Sheriff's Off ce.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 8th day of
October, 1996 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors: Meyer, Dolan, Houx and Chair McLaughlin
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Thomas
