HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-126RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE BUTTE COUNTY JUVENILE JUSTICE COORDINATING COUNCIL WHEREAS, the Juvenile Crime Enforcement and Accountability Challenge Grant Program (SB 1760) was enacted to reduce the rate of juvenile crime in California; and WHEREAS, grants shall be provided to counties that establish multi-agency juvenile justice coordinating councils to develop and implement comprehensive strategies for preventing and effectively responding to juvenile crime; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors wishes to establish such a council in order to be eligible to receive such grants. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council is hereby established with a chair and representation as follows: Chair shall be the Chief Probation Officer. One (1) representative each from: Board of Supervisors Department of Social Services District Attorney Department of Mental Health Public Defender Department of Public Health Sheriff Community based drug and alcohol program Two {2) representatives from city police departments. Three (3) representatives from the County Office of Education or school districts. Five (5) representatives at large. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Probation Officer is authorized to sign Butte County's applications for state funding as well as related contracts, amendments, or extensions with the State of California subject to review by the Council and the Board of Supervisors; and That the County will adhere to the requirements of the Board of Corrections and all conditions specified in the grant contract with the State of California in the expenditure of state funds received pursuant to said application; and That all final planning products will be developed and provided to the Board of Corrections no later than March 14, 1997; and That the County will invoice the Board of Corrections for all costs approved in the grant no later than June 30, 1997.
